Hi! I’m Lisa Harvey

Pilates has been part of my life for more than 20 years — first as a student and, for the last 10+ years, as a teacher.

I found Pilates while trying to understand my own body and feel better after:

  • A back injury while playing sports in high school that aggravated underlying spinal issues

  • A concussion and whiplash from a car accident

  • Long hours working at a computer that left me stiff and aching

Years of back and neck pain had left me frustrated, cautious about what I could do and convinced there had to be a better way forward than simply avoiding the things that hurt.

Pilates helped me find it.

My back and neck started feeling better. But what kept me coming back was everything else that changed along the way. I became stronger. My balance and coordination improved. (I still laugh when someone asks if I was a dancer. Nope — any grace I have is thanks to Pilates.) I learned to stand, sit and move in a way that didn’t hurt — those improvements in alignment & posture helped me “grow” almost a full inch!

I felt better in my body and, for the first time, confident in what it could do.

And I’m still working on all of those things today.

My body has changed over the last 20+ years, and so has my Pilates practice. Some days I just want to stretch. Most days I need to work on strength. Some exercises that once worked for me now need to be modified — or swapped for something that makes more sense for my body today.

That ongoing experience — as both a teacher and a student — has given me confidence in what’s possible when you combine consistent practice, the right exercises and a willingness to keep learning about your body.

Change is Possible

That belief shapes both what I teach and how I teach it.

For more than 10 years, I’ve taught in studios alongside physical therapists while continuing my own education. I've worked with clients with very different bodies, histories and goals — people recovering from injuries and surgeries, managing conditions like arthritis and osteoporosis or simply wanting to stay strong, mobile and active as they get older.

I’ve learned that there is rarely one exercise — or one way of doing an exercise — that is right for everyone.

My job is to help you find what works for your body: when to challenge it, when to modify, what to focus on and how to keep progressing.

The goal isn’t to simply become good at Pilates. It’s to build the strength, mobility and confidence to feel your best and keep doing the things you want to do.

I’d love to help.

Lisa REALLY knows her stuff!

She’s taught me to appreciate and listen to my body while recovering from an injury, while showing me there is still so much I can do!
