I wish I had started working out with Lisa years ago!
At 63, I hadn't been to the gym in 12 years and worried that my old joints might not handle a new workout.
I had nothing to worry about. Lisa listened and adapted the exercises according to both my strengths and my needs.

Balance is a problem due to a very arthritic ankle. Working with Lisa has made me stronger and she’s always mixing it up so I’m never bored.

Questions About Private Pilates
-
Not at all. Private sessions are a great place to begin because the exercises, equipment and level of challenge can all be adapted to your experience and how your body is moving that day.
If you already have Pilates experience, we can build from what you know and focus more specifically on your goals.
-
We’ll start by talking about your goals, movement history and any pain, injuries or concerns you have. Then you’ll get moving with Pilates exercises selected and modified based on what we’ve discussed and how you move.
I’ll check in with you the next day to see how you’re feeling, which helps determine what adjustments are needed for your next session. Over the first few sessions, we’ll continue building on what works and develop a clear path toward your goals.
-
Private sessions are especially helpful when you need more individual attention. Exercises can be modified around stiff, painful or limited areas so you can build strength and mobility without unnecessarily aggravating them.
If you’re currently working with a doctor or physical therapist, we’ll also take the guidelines or restrictions they’ve given you into account.
-
Not necessarily. Some clients love the individual attention and choose to stay with private sessions, while others transition into duet or small-group classes once they feel comfortable with the equipment and exercises.
You can also combine formats — using private sessions when you want more focused attention while enjoying duet or group sessions at other times.
-
It depends on your goals, schedule, how much recovery your body needs and the frequency and intensity of your other activities.
For most clients, I recommend two Pilates sessions a week. That gives you enough consistency to build momentum and make steady progress while still allowing time for your body to recover between sessions.
-
Private sessions may be cancelled or rescheduled with at least 24 hours’ notice. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice are charged at the full session rate.
